EL CAIET, a.k.a. Caio Mascarello, is a mixed-media artist born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, currently based in Barcelona, Spain.

His practice and research centers on male intimacy, erotic tenderness, and emotional vulnerability — not as spectacle, but as resistance. Working across different mediums and supports, he builds bodies and figures that treat softness as its own form of confrontation, where color and texture carry as much weight as the image itself.

His artistic path began with fashion design and illustration through summer courses at Central Saint Martins (London, 2013), where early experimentation with textiles and portraiture opened a door into the world of art — gradually expanding into collage, street art, printmaking, and painting.

In Barcelona, he completed a postgraduate degree in creative illustration, deepening his research into image, narrative, and the body. His artistic practice draws on his own image and personal experiences, using them to make sense of what he lives.
