About the Artist

Jamalamaja is Javier Sánchez, born in Madrid in 1988. With his entire family hailing from Talavera de la Reina, he has always felt connected to both places yet fully belonging to neither—a duality that shapes his perspective.

He studied Architecture, an education that has profoundly influenced how he sees and interprets the world and approaches the various projects he undertakes. His architectural training brings structure, spatial awareness, and conceptual rigor to his illustration work, creating a distinctive visual language that bridges technical precision with creative expression.

Currently working as an illustrator while teaching interior and product design at a university in Madrid, Jamalamaja maintains a practice that spans both creative production and education, sharing his multidisciplinary approach with the next generation of designers.
