About the Artist
Cachorro Lozano is a Bilbao-born artist whose work explores the construction of identity in contemporary European contexts.
With a background in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country, specializing in photography and performance, and a Master’s degree in Ceramics, Lozano works across drawing, painting, ceramics, performance, and audiovisual media. His practice examines identity, representation, and their relationship with contemporary culture.
His drawings have been exhibited internationally, including at the Tom of Finland Foundation in Los Angeles, and have appeared in the Queer as Folk reboot series. Notable exhibitions include solo shows at Horst Gallery Zaragoza, Crack Madrid, and Haimney Gallery Barcelona, as well as group exhibitions across Europe and the Americas. In 2022, four of his ceramic works were acquired by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia for its permanent collection.
Lozano also co-directs ElPuñalDorao, a nomadic project combining art and events across Spanish cities. His work has been supported by institutions such as the Bilboarte Foundation, Iberescena, and PICE, and he has presented performances and research at venues including Museo Universitario El Chopo and CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo.
