/STRIPPED/ is the second photobook by Oli Raptor published with Bona Varda, following the sold out success of his debut book Outsiders.
A new photobook exploring queer intimacy, identity, and image-making through the analogue photo booth, /STRIPPED/ was created in collaboration with Autofoto London.
The book brings together Oli Raptor's friends, lovers, ravers, queer pioneers, couples, pups, and chosen family within the intimate space of the photo booth - capturing moments of vulnerability, joy, rebellion, and connection.
Inspired by Andy Warhol's Photobooth Pictures, the work reimagines analogue portraiture through a contemporary queer lens, celebrating tenderness, preservation, and community in an increasingly digital world.
About the Artist
Oliver Sarley (b. 1986), also known as Oli Raptor, is a London-based artist whose photography captures the essence of queer life. Sarley's work, reflective of a "lifetime of censorship" sheding light on the experiences of marginalized communities, transcending societal restrictions. Through his alter ego, Oli Raptor, Sarley meticulously documents intimate moments with strangers, friends, and lovers, capturing the raw essence of these experiences. His photographs defy societal norms, challenging viewers to contemplate the rich tapestry of human diversity. Sarley not only sparks dialogue but also raises awareness and advocates against censorship through his art.
